This time he’s arranged all the stories and novels in chronological order, both in terms of the internal continuity of the series and its publishing history. Check it out!

“Holmes on the Range” fans who prefer to hear about Big Red and Old Red rather than read about them, your day has come: The new “HotR” novel Hunters of the Dead is now available as an audiobook courtesy of narrator extraordinaire Chuck Galco. Unfortunately, I managed to wipe that smile off Chuck’s face by making him record the name “Professor Pertwee” over and over until it sounded right to me. Sorry about that, Chuck!
Now that the new “Holmes on the Range” novel is out, what’s an author to do? Go on a book tour, of course! Or a book jaunt, anyway. (Three events doesn’t quite feel like a “tour.”) First up: I’ll be at the Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale, Arizona, 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. Come say hi!
The seventh “Holmes on the Range” novel doesn’t come out until tomorrow, but the reviews are already in! “A delight to read…many laugh-out-loud moments,” says Western Fiction Review. “5 out of 5 stars…I’d forgotten just how much fun these books could be,” says Carstairs Considers. Rough Edges Press is giving the original “Holmes on the Range” short story collection “Dear Mr. Holmes” a spiffy repackaging just like the rest of the series, and the result is now available for pre-order. Why do I call it “the original ‘Holmes on the Range’ short story collection”? Because a new one is on the way soon, too. Stay tuned!
