Remember when I was all excited because my first book for kids was coming out? Seems like yesterday...because it practically was. I've been a real-live, official, bona fide children's book author for just two months.
But now it's time to put the excitement about that first kids book behind us --- because my second one is about to come out! Nick and Tesla's Robot Army Rampage, the sequel to Nick and Tesla's High-Voltage Danger Lab, goes on sale February 4.
Once again, our young heroes stumble into a mystery and have to use their gift for gizmos to save the day. And once again step-by-step instructions for building all those gizmos are included in the book. The difference this time: Nick and Tesla use homemade robots to crack the case. But they have to watch out, because the villain's even better at building robots than them!
The first review's out, and though it's from the sometimes cranky Kirkus, it was a thumbs up. Quoth Kirkus: "Like Nick and Tesla's High-Voltage Danger Lab, this sequel features some wild action interspersed with clear instructions for projects that make liberal use of small motors, plastic bottles and tubing, electric wires and a hot-glue gun...Less-handy readers will enjoy the humor, the detective work and the threat to the twins revealed in the final pages...Another fast-paced mystery and treat for technophiles."
It's nice to know that my second kids book is off to a good start. I'll have to soak in the excitement about that while I can -- because my third kids' book comes out just three months later....
